Saving Energy

Do you save energy?

You are probably thinking “Yes , I save energy” but do you really? Are you telling the truth? Because if energy is still being wasted, then terrible things could happen like Global Warming.

Global Warming.
Global warming might occur if we don’t save energy and in places like the Arctic and Antarctica.The ice could melt and endanger thousands of animals such as  the Polar bear and Penguins.Antarctica and the Arctic used to be beautiful places with their never ending ice and glittering snow but look at them now.Snow has been melting and ice falling into the depths of the sea.Penguins are becoming homeless because of the ice falling and Polar bears have to travel far to find food.  In hot places the climax has been changing rapidly causing the balance of the earth to fall out of place.  

Climate change
Climate change is when the weather changes unexpectedly.
Climate change is beginning to happen and it is not a good thing for the Earth. Already the Earth is showing many signs of worldwide climate change and it is becoming a big problem. If we don’t do something about this, than climate change could ruin the balance of nature and change the Earth. Climate change is making Antarctica hotter, causing it to melt. In islands like Tokelau and Tuvalu climate change is creating a rise in sea levels, that are surrounding them making the islands smaller.This is a huge problem that could change the Earth forever. What can we do about this?

How we can help?
We can help by doing things like shortening our shower times , playing outside once in awhile instead of playing on computer and watching T.V. , turning off lights when we are not using them and taking public transport sometimes to save petrol.Even by doing just a little bit we can save energy.  Slow down global warming, stop climate change and keep the Earth clean. If over half of the world did just a tiny bit to save energy we could help our earth. This will be a good opportunity to help the animals and save our beautiful planet.

Narrative practice Week 1

“Stop that thief!” yelled Officer Baker as he ran through the streets. He was chasing a criminal named Tight walker who was a professional thief. Tight walker was a man who always wore a suit when he stole, even though he did not wear a mask no one had ever seen his face. Officer Baker was quite a plump man so he could not run that fast. “ I said stop!” screamed the huffing and puffing officer. Tight walker was running on top of a fence, his balance was incredible . Finally the Officer gave in, “I will get him next time” he mumbled under his breath.

1 week  passed , at the police station and all the cops were extremely bored. “Tight walker has not stolen anything lately” said detective sanders. She let out a long sigh. “Maybe...he will never steal again” replied detective smith . “Well , i do wish he would steal something soon” said sanders again. Suddenly Officer Bakers stormed into the room.

“What are you all talking about!” exclaimed Officer Baker cheerfully. “ We should be celebrating” he laughed . “Why” answered detective smith.  “ WHY?” shrieked Baker , “Tight walker has not stolen anything lately , isn't that great” he pointed out. “But tight walker’s the man who actually gives us something to do” explained detective sanders . All the cops nodded. “ I guess you’re right “ answered Officer Baker as he thought about the situation.

Suddenly  detective smith stood up and said “why are we even cops can’t we get a better life”. Everyone was quiet then they all began to grin.  “Great idea” they said together .”YIPPEE “ yelled the detectives and officers  as they grabbed their equipment and fled the building.

Team working game reflection!

I liked how we all tried our best to untangle ourselves because it showed that we were all fine with working with each other.

The challenging part of this was connecting our arms together because we had no idea whose hands to hold!.We overcame this by talking to each about where to put our hands.I realised that I didn't work well with boy but when it was just all girls I felt more comforted.I learnt that teamwork is very important and that if you don’t learn to work with people you will never be happy with learning.

Today was New Zealand's National shake out day.At 9.26 there was an earthquake drill.I was at my desk so i dropped covered and held my onto my desk.One thing we did well at tamaki primary was how fast we were to get under our desks.One thing i want to work on next time is not getting frustrated and hitting my head.Our meeting place is our school hall.Remember in the event of an earthquake drop,cover hold.
